A Letter to My 2022 Self

Dear future me, you are a millionaire! Lol, maybe not, but you’ve developed all the habits you need to be financially free, so pat yourself on the back for that. When we started this career 9 years ago, that was the goal. It was only supposed to take 6 years, but life happens. This year you set some goals and laid out some visions. I think you’ll do most of them with some hard work and dedication. You’re a morning person now, so that’s one habit that will help you towards your goals. I hope when you read this you’ve made memories at Disney. I hope that you’ve started writing a manuscript for that book you always talked about. I hope that you spend more time with L and are being intentional about carving out time for her despite your busy schedule. You have gone back to therapy because I have a task to make an appointment on the calendar.

I don’t know B, this just seems like recalling all the things that I’ve already set out for us to complete, and it feels odd writing it in this manner. I just want you to look back on 2022 and feel happy. I want you to free your heart up a little bit and finally let someone back in. Whatever that person did to you hurt, but don’t let the year pass you by still harboring it and shutting love out because of it. It’s not healthy. I know you pray for your family, so I’m sure they’re all healthy and well. Somethings that I want you to do I just want you to look back on 2022 and feel happy. I want you to free your heart up a little bit and finally let someone back in. Whatever that person did to you hurt, but don’t let the year pass you by still harboring it and shutting love out because of it. It’s not healthy. I know you pray for your family, so I’m sure they’re all healthy and well. Some things that I want you to do is to look at the vision board we framed and hung up in January, check off everything we did. Then I want you to make a new one for 2023. Focus and intention are our words for the year, and I hope you lived with that as a theme every single day. If there’s still a pandemic going on, keep pushing through. We made it through two years, so we can do a few more if necessary. No matter what, keep your head up. All things get better with time, 2018 taught us that.
